Minecraft is a game developed by Mojang Studios. It is an 3D sandbox with a blocky style. The objective is to gather resources to survive dangers from the environment or hostile mobs. You can also explore randomly generated terrain and create environments and sculptures using various colorful tools and blocks. However, the goal is largely determined by the player's instructions. It was initially released as an indie title for the PC and handheld devices on November 18, 2011. The Wii U version of the game, dubbed Minecraft: Wii U Edition, was initially released for the Nintendo eShop on December 17, 2015,[4] dead linkand later made available in a physical version on June 17 in 2016. [5] dead link] A Nintendo Switch port, known as Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition was released on the Nintendo eShop on May 11, 2017. [6] Aside from the different controls and a larger map size, it is similar to the Wii U game. On September 13 the 13th of September, 2017, a brand new edition of Minecraft was released for the New Nintendo 3DS. It is appropriately titled Minecraft - New Nintendo 3DS Edition. The original game features references to the Mario franchise like the 100m painting from Donkey Kong (which was based on the work of Kristoffer Zetterstrand) as well as the Wii U, New Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch editions keeps these references. But, all three Nintendo versions of the game also come with the exclusive Super Mario Mash-up, which is a complete Mario-themed remake of the original game's objects and was released with the Wii U and Nintendo Switch physical editions. [5]
A new version of Minecraft on the Nintendo Switch, named simply Minecraft, was released both physically and digitally on June 21 the 21st of June, 2018. The updated version is compatible with other platforms, including Android, iOS, iPadOS, Fire, Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 that share the same codebase referred to as "Bedrock" (originated from Minecraft: Pocket Edition). Players who bought the Nintendo Switch port can have an option to upgrade to the latest version for no cost.
Minecraft: Wii U Edition was removed after the final update in the year 2018. It was also discontinued along with other consoles from the past with the exception of PS4. [88 Minecraft - New Nintendo 3DS Edition was also canceled on January 15 2019. [9]
Steve, Alex, a Zombie, and an Enderman from Minecraft all are playable characters in DLC (the latter three being alternate costumes of Steve) in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, along with an stage based on Minecraft, Minecraft World.

Many large-scale, notable Mario landmarks make an appearance in the pre-built world, including Peach's Castle, Delfino Plaza, an Airship, the Sunken Ghost Ship, and many more generic locations including a Ghost House and end-of-level Castles.
Warp Pipe contraptions and World Map-like routes often connect places. Large sprite recreations and 3D statues are displayed across the entire map. Treasures, like Minecraft Music Discs and Gold Ingots, are often located at places of interest.
In the Minecraft's Nether dimension through a recreation the Valley of Bowser entrance features an accessible Bowser's Castle and additional landmarks. The Nether is inspired by World 8 in modern platformers.
The paintings are often used on maps as a decoration.

It is clear that different skins were intended to be used in the initial version. They include Hooktail as the Ender Dragon instead of Gobblegut, Midbus as the Pigs as the Pigs, and Yoshi as Yoshi as the Horses. Another image shows the Ender Chest in a Mr. I-themed design, instead of the Shy Guy-themed one that was released. The original Boomerang Bros Zombie Villagers were dressed in the costumes of the Pianta before they were transformed.
