Amazon is today putting the final elements on its first smartphone that is scheduled to be unveiled within hours by boss Jeff Bezos.


The device is expected use retina-tracking technology so that images displayed on the screen appear to "float" above' the screen like Holograms and appear three-dimensional from all angles.


AT&T will be the first to launch the handset in the US, in a deal similar to the launch of the original iPhone.


The much-rumoured holophone from Amazon is set to be announced on June 18. On Wednesday, Amazon unveiled a teaser trailer that showcases people's reactions to the device. The handset's images have previously leaked online. The most recent images (pictured below) show a thin handset which resembles Apple's iPhone.


AT&T's competitors have already been infuriated by the report of a deal.

Images of the handset were previously released online.


It is being developed at Lab126, Amazon’s secretive Silicon Valley hardware unit.


According to Business Week, more than 1,600 people claim Lab126 on the professional networking site LinkedIn as their employer.


The latest images also show a slim phone that looks like Apple's iPhone.


BGR has stated that multiple reliable sources have confirmed the authenticity of the image. It was created by Amazon graphic designers for internal use.


The handset is inspired by the design of Google's Nexus handset and Apple's iPhone 5.


BGR confirmed that the phone will look like other smartphones with full-touch on the market as shown in the latest image.

In fact, it appears to take design cues taken from various existing phones, including Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy S lineup and even the HTC One, which has a chamfered, polished bezel much like the one seen on Amazon's phone.'


The phone is expected to feature a 4.7 inch display with HD resolution of 720p, a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM, and six distinct camera modules to create the 3D effect.


It will run an extremely customized version Google's Android operating system that is similar to the one seen on Amazon's Kindle Fire tablets.

The site has previously obtained images of the handset encased in a protective case.
