The Xbox One, PS4 and Vita versions of Minecraft are scheduled to launch in August for $20, Mojang announced today. The game will be $5 on Xbox One and PS4 for players who have Minecraft on Xbox 360 and PS3. Cross-Buy titles are available on Vita. This means that if you already have Minecraft for PS3 you can purchase it on Vita. All PS3 DLC can be played in the Vita edition, but not all skins or texture packs will work on PS4 and Xbox One versions due to licensing agreements.

Minecraft: Xbox One and PS4 editions have more worlds than the current generation versions, and they both let users import save data from Xbox 360 and PS3 + Vita games and PS3 + Vita games, respectively. However, saves won't transfer from the next-gen system to current-gen.

"There are technical reasons for this. We can expand our worlds without too much stress, but reducing them creates all sorts of problems," Mojang says.
