Minecraft: Pocket Edition is Officially "hotter than The Sun'
How popular is the mobile version of Minecraft? It's pretty dang popular according to developer Mojang's latest blog post. According to Mojang, which was recently purchased by Microsoft, Minecraft: Pocket Edition is bigger than Texas and 23x more hot than the Sun and "more than the entire universe." Of course If you're looking to find actual statistics Mojang has one those, too 30,000,000. This is the amount of times the pint-sized version of the game has been purchased.
Minecraft: Pocket Edition was released long before the free-to play trend was a "thing". It sells for US$6.99 on the iOS App Store and Google Play and hasn't had any price adjustments. This means that the game has brought in around $210 million in revenue. That's a lot of cheddar, and given its high App Store ranking it's likely to continue to earn money for a longer time.
