Inclusive description of a complex variety as "the entire Mary Anne" obtains from the colorful characters of wangan caravans which occasionally changed quiet rural communities with the enjoyment of a passing log drive. In Canada, "The Log Motorist's Waltz" is a popular folk tune which boasts about a log chauffeur's dancing abilities.
This banknote belonged to the 4th series of banknotes released by the Bank of Canada entitled "Scenes of Canada". The logs illustrated in this bank note may have been destined for a half lots pulp, paper and sawmills near the Chaudire Falls instantly upstream from Parliament Hill, or for other mills even more downstream.
Harry Brandelius' 1950s Swedish tune informs the story of a young log driver. Teuvo Pakkala's 1899 Finnish play started the so-called 'log chauffeur romantics' stage, resulting in a number of motion pictures and books about log motorists' lives. The tune Breakfast in Hell by Slaid Cleaves tells the tale of the death of Sandy Grey, a driver in Ontario.
