Early life [modify] Gunna was born in College Park, Georgia. He was raised by his mother and has four older siblings. He started making music at age fifteen. 20162018: Career beginnings and Drip Season series [modify] Function Gunna was presented to American rapper Young Punk through Keith "King" Troup, a mutual friend and community figure who passed away in December 2015. He was later featured alongside American rap artists Travis Scott and Gucci Mane on Goon's tune, "Floyd Mayweather", from his commercial mixtape.
It included members from YSL, such as Young Punk, Lil Duke, and Nechie. He released the mixtape Drip Season 2 on May 11, 2017. It featured numerous popular Atlanta and YSL artists such as Young Hooligan, Playboi Carti, and Offset. From the mixtape "YSL" featuring American rapper Playboi Carti was on a "Grand Theft Automobile" radio station.
2018: Drip Season 3 and Drip Harder [modify] On February 2, 2018, he released the business mixtape. It featured significant visitor appearances from Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Lil Durk, Nav, City Boomin, and Lil Yachty, while the deluxe edition included additional looks from Lil Uzi Vert, Young Jordan, Young Hooligan, and Lil Child.
On April 17, 2018, Gunna released a single entitled "Offered Out Dates!" including American rap artist Lil Baby, a friend and frequent partner. The tune became one of his mainstream recordings and got millions of streams on platforms like You, Tube and Sound, Cloud. It was ultimately launched as a non-album single after leakages.
